Who we are

Psychotherapist Sara Young leads a team who are highly skilled in pioneering therapies to support people’s mental and physiological health.

Sara, who works with people of all ages and has a special interest in children and young people’s mental health, established Changing Minds with Pick Up a Penny in Forest Hall, North Tyneside to support long-term recovery.

Using a person-centred holistic approach enables people to enjoy improved psychological health and emotional wellbeing; lead happier and more fulfilling lives; and reach their potential.

Changing Minds has a fundraising arm called Pick Up a Penny, which is based on the premise that every penny counts and can make a difference.

Sara’s vision is to fundraise to establish a network of mental and physiological health centres offering innovative and timely therapies, with the first centre planned for the North East.

Freya’s Journey

Freya’s Journey

Freya had never slept well since being born and as her parents we just accepted this and adapted to a life of constant tiredness.  Freya’s sleep habits involved waking frequently right throughout the night.  On a good night, this would be maybe twice and good nights occurred maybe once or twice a week.
